$16 Million Lottery Winner Not Excited
It seems that if anyone wins the lottery, even if it is just a small amount, they are extremely excited. It is exciting to win money but also the thrill of the win can be just as exhilarating. Imagine winning one hundred thousand dollars or even one million dollars. Now think of how happy and excited you would be. Now imagine if you won $16 million that would most likely send you through the roof with excitement. For one Australian woman, winning $16 million was “unexciting”. A grandmother from Illawarra, near Sydney, won the $2 million jackpot lottery this past Friday. The $2 million jackpot lottery had gone so long without a winner that the top prize was $16.025 million. It took almost a year before it was hit.
The woman, who remained nameless, told a NSW Lotteries official that “I’m not excited. I just feel the same as before”. She went on to say that she does not let anything worry her and the money will not change her, she just likes to be herself.
The woman did say that she had been playing the lottery for years and always wanted to help her family. “The jackpot will see my family right, and I’ll also invest wisely I hope.” She also stated she would like to take a trip around Australia before she dies.
The NSW lottery started in the 1930s and this is the biggest jackpot prize ever won in its history. In this lottery the jackpot is won when a winning ticket, of any value, is reselected in the same lottery draw. The woman, who won the jackpot, only won $20 before her ticket was reselected.
Since winning this large amount of money from the lottery does not excite the grandmother, it is a wonder what would.
