They say it's better late then never and in this case it most definately was. A man from Winston - Salem, North Carolina is now $800,000 dollars richer after he claimed his winning lottery ticket almost a moth after the winning numbers were announced.

Samuel Crisp bought his ticket at a gas station in Winston - Salem for the June 14th drawing. Crisp said that he had no idea that he had possession of a winning ticket until his wife asked him to check their tickets online.

He bought the lottery ticket to help support the education system but never thought that he would win. He recently retired and said that he plans on investing his new fortune.
