According to the China Daily newspaper, the largest lottery win ever in China recently took place. Chinese lottery authorities reported a new record was recently set for the largest win in the country. The win was worth 359.9 million Yuan.

The win is around $52.7 million in United States dollars and was earned by an unidentified person in Anyang the province of Henan. The player spent just 176 Yuan to buy 88 lottery tickets and one of those tickets was the lucky one!

This win is the largest win in China in twenty two years. This win surpassed the 113 million Yuan win earned by a player from Gansu province back in 2007. The lottery tickets are sold on the Chinese mainland to help raise money for government welfare services or development in sports. Winners must pay a tax of 20% on their winnings as well as claim their win within two months.
