The South Carolina state lottery claim center was quite busy this past Monday as players were bringing in their tickets to claim their prizes. A young twenty nine year old man walked into the office and waited until the waiting room had cleared before he approached the counter. He was quiet and wanted the clerk to check and see if he had read the ticket right. Indeed he had and he was now the winner of $1 million.

The man had his ticket checked around ten am. He was a regular at the gas station but had never bought a lottery ticket. He decided to spend ten dollars on a ticket and now he is the proud winner of the large jackpot prize.

The clerk said the man wished to remain anonymous as he is from a small town and did not want any publicity. The man spoke very little but did say he would pay off his student loans. After taxes the man walked away from the office with a check for $680,000.

The clerk said the young man walked away with a tear in his eye but a smile on his face.
