This past Monday a Georgia couple changed their lives forever. Living paycheck to paycheck like most people, Robert and Tonya Harris no longer have to worry about money. The couple presented their winning lottery ticket this past Monday to lottery officials and the ticket was worth $275 million.

The couple won the prize after playing the Mega Millions jackpot and said they plan to replace their trailer home with a new house and buy a new truck first thing. Robert commented that he had to work overtime just to be able to pay the bills and now he doesn’t have to do that.
The lottery win was the largest earned by a single player in the history of the Georgia lottery’s fifteen years. The win was the third largest in Mega Millions history.

Robert stated he chose the winning numbers by using his grandchildren’s birthdays. The numbers chosen were 7, 12, 13, 19 and 22 with the Mega Ball number 10. The couple plans to set up college funds for all of their grandchildren and will share the money with other relatives as well.

Both seem like really nice people who are well deserving of the prize. Tonya Harris put it best when she said: “We’re not going to change. I’m too country.”
