Illinois Governow Wants to Make Lotto Private
Despite the fact that our economy is slowing Governor Rod Blagojevich wants more money for health care and education. He also wants tax cuts for businesses and a one time tax credit for Illinois families. His plan to pay for it all, raise other businesses taxes, make the lottery private and increase casino taxes.Blagojevich outlined his largest budget proposal on Wednesday, but his relationship with state lawmakers could hinder his efforts to win their approval this spring. His initiatives last for year for more universal health care didn't win very much support by lawmakers.
In an effort to stimulate the economy, Blagojevich is following in the lead of the federal government and is proposing a one time refundable tax credit of $300 per child that qualifying families would receive this year.
