Man wins $1 Million after moving to TexasPreston Brown moved from Dayton to Texas with his mother and after being in the new state for just a few months, Brown is now a millionaire. Brown purchased a lottery ticket and won the million dollar prize during the latest drawing.
Brown purchased his tickets on January 17th and commented that he bought four tickets and saved the big one to scratch for last. He then saw the word Grand and then the rest of the prize. Brown stated he had to show his mom so he would believe that the ticket said he had won.
Brown then went back to the store and ran the ticket through the self-service scanner. The scanner told Brown to come to the Lottery headquarters in Austin to claim his prize. Brown will receive $1,000 each week for twenty years with the win.
The store where Brown purchased the ticket will get $10,000 for selling the winning ticket. The Weekly Grand has been around since 1995 in the state and has become quite popular since it first began.
