Michigan Awards $285 Million Contract to Gtech Corp.
The state of Michigan has just awarded a $285 million dollar contract for a major upgrade of the state lottery operations to Gtech Corp, the Providence Rhode Island based vendor that has supplied the states lottery terminals.The contract will last for six years with the Michigan Bureau of State Lottery for their services and equipment that are at the core of the lottery's operation. The contract will also include retailer electronic terminals and computer systems, telecommunications structure and distribution of the lottery's instant tickets.
After a drawing players will soon be able to scan their tickets and determine if they have won and there will also be more self service instant ticket dispensers at retail locations and self serve machines that will both sell instant tickets and tickets for the lottery's online games.
The Lottery's Club Keno Game that is played in bars and restraints will also be getting a boost with new flat panel display monitors at Club Keno locations and more machines that dispense the Keno tickets.
