Mon that Won Lotto Got Fired
A doorman from New York City kept his job after he won the lotto recently but the Park Avenue apartment building has shown him the door. The winner, Richie Randazzo won R36 million or almost $5 million dollars and a spokesperson for the Union that represents the apartment building workers, Kate Ferranti said that Richie Randazzo was notified through the union's grievance center this week that told them that he had been sent a letter telling him he was fired.Randozzo's father said that the letter didn't specify the reasons for Randozza's discharge and declined to give his name and said that his son wasn't home. Randazzo made R290,000 a year working as a doorman and he began taking in an additional R470,000 every three months after he hit the jackpot on May 2nd.
The Brooklyn resident said when he won the money he had no immediate plans to change his life, but allowed that he might indulge in a motorboat and a luxury auto. According to published reports his attendance at work turned kind of spotty after he won the lottery and Ferranti said the dismissal would be investigated by the Service Employees International Union.
