This past Saturday the Powerball drawing took place and a winner was found. A convenience store in Lawrenceburg, a community of Indiana, sold the ticket but has no idea who won. It remains a mystery as the clerks at the store try and figure out who was sold the winning ticket.

Yesterday morning a man came in and asked a clerk where you claim the tickets. Mary Cummings, the store manager, told the man that Indianapolis is where tickets are claimed. A second clerk asked the man if he was the big winner. According to Cummings, the man just smiled real big and walked out.

The town where the ticket was sold is home to less than 5,000 people. Many towns’ people would love for the winner to be one of their own but many speculate that the winner was a visitor to the local casino. The casino has many visitors on a regular basis.

Once the winner has claimed their prize they have to choose how they want their winnings. If the winner takes a lump sum payment then they would receive just under $100 million. I believe I would take the lump sum.
