Ohio Man Stealing Scratch off Lottery Tickets and Claiming Winnings
Columbus, Ohio authorities have been dealing with a usual lottery crime for some time now. A man has been stealing scratch-and-win lottery tickets and then claiming the winnings at a different store than where he stole the tickets. The police have now a suspect but he is still on the loose. Robert Carey Cabot is suspected of committing the crime at least twenty times in the past month. Not only has Cabot been stealing in the month of January but many believe that he has been running this scam for years. It is believed that Cabot has been stealing the tickets since 2006. Cabot does not have a home and he floats from motel to motel. This is why police have not been able to track him down.
The police in Columbus believe that Cabot has won around $2,000 just in the month of January. If he has been doing it for years there is no telling how much money he has won. There is a $2,000 reward for his arrest and hopefully he will be apprehended soon.
