Single Mother, Breast Cancer Survivor Wins Lottery
Forty year old, Tracy Foster won a total of £2,561,513 at the end of July in a lottery in Benfleet, Essex. Foster had used her usual numbers of 4, 26,28,32,44 and 46 when she purchased her ticket and finally won the draw. Foster said she was on the phone at home with a friend checking the Lotto numbers when she realized that she had five matching numbers. Foster then called her mother who was staying with Foster’s aunts to share the news. One of Foster’s aunts checked the numbers online and found out Foster had won over £2.5 million.Tracy Foster could not believe she had won. Foster stated that the past year had “probably been the worst year of my life” but that this year was definitely “going to be the best”. In February of last year, Foster was diagnosed with breast cancer after a lump was discovered. Foster had to undergo surgery to remove the lump. The surgery went well and she is also scheduled to go to a check up this week to make sure the cancer is gone.
Ms Foster is divorced and has two sons Ross age 20 and Ryan age 16. She lives in a three bed semi detached home and would like to buy a new home with four or five bedrooms with her winnings. Foster has also said she may take a vacation break in December and possibly buy a new car.
Her sons have created a wish list of items they would like her to buy them, that includes several electronic gadgets. Foster has stated that her boys will not get everything on their list as she wants them to understand the value of money. However, she did buy herself £1,000 worth of new clothes.
Ms Foster has been playing the lottery since 1994 and recently told her mother with a joke that she was going to win the lottery, never knowing she would be right.
