A woman who was doing a little late spring cleaning over the weekend almost tossed a lot of money out the window. While she was in the process of throwing away an old recliner she found a lotto ticket that was stuck in one oth armrests of the chair.

Candy Tyree found the ticket after her husband, Jim asked if she had checked to see if the now one week old Mega Millions ticket he had stuffed in the chair was a winner.

After going outside where the recliner now sat Candy checked the numbers on the lottery's website and discovered she had a winning ticket in her hand that was worth $249,050 dollars.

"I'm good at throwing his stuff away before he's done," Candy said when she and her husband claimed their winnings at the Sacramento Lottery District Office.
