Teenage Lottery Winner gets more than she bargained for
Ianthe Fullagar, an eighteen year old from Ravenglass in Cumbria won more than £7m in the lottery. She was so excited that when she found out she had won, she screamed very loudly. Unfortunately her dog was sitting with her and did not like the scream so he bit her on her bottom. Fullager checked her ticket and realized that the first three numbers matched. She then realized that she had the five main matching numbers plus one Lucky Star. She said she checked the back of the ticket and saw that the average win was £280,000 for those numbers. When she saw this she stated she could not stop screaming.
Fullager’s mom then called the National Lottery Line and she learned her daughter had won a share of the jackpot. Fullager stated: “We were both screaming so loudly that my dog, Brock, didn’t know what was happening and bit me on the bottom.”
Fullager has only played the EuroMillions one other time but stated she wanted to try again because the jackpot was so large. Fullager was about to start earning her law degree in 2009 and has stated that with the money she will start her own law practice when she graduates.
She will also treat herself to an Egyptian vacation, a black Ford KA and share the money with family and friends. Fullagar won £7,055,142.10 in Friday's EuroMillions draw, was one of the lucky 15 who each won a slice of the £102m EuroMillions jackpot.
Camelot, the operator of the Lottery stated that four of the winning EuroMillions tickets were bought in the United Kingdom and one has still been unclaimed. Hopefully that winner will not be bitten as Ms. Fullagar was, but I’m sure they won’t mind after winning such a large sum of money.
