It was announced recently that the winner of the $76 million Texas Lottery should be announced shortly. The winner purchased the ticket in Alvin and it still remains a mystery on who the winner is. The attorney who represents the winner contacted state lottery officials asking questions about claiming the jackpot, so it could be revealed soon on who the winner is.

The ticket was purchased at the HEB grocery store in Brazoria County and employees have stated they do not know the winners identity. The attorney representing the winner called the lottery officials around 3:30 pm on Thursday to talk about claiming the money but did not reveal the name of the winner.

“We don't have a name — we don't really know anything,” Texas Lottery spokeswoman Leticia Vasquez said. The attorney “was very vague in discussing anything, just asked some general questions. He didn't indicate one way or the other anything about the ticket holders — male, female, group, single person, nothing.”
