The Harrow School in London Now Has Two £9 million Lottery Winners
The Harrow School in London has many distinctive qualities about it, a very old and much respected institution. It has produced alumni such as Winston Churchhill and seven Prime Ministers. It is also used as one of the settings in the Harry Potter Movie, Harry Potter and The Philosopher's Stone. As of last month it has also gained another distinction, two £9 million winners in the Euro Millions Lottery. The two new millionaires are both over 16 years old, the legal age for buying a lottery ticket and they are also brothers.
The Harrow School remains very hush, hush about it and not willing to give out much information on the matter. It could be due to the fact that gambling is not allowed on school grounds and during the term session, as a matter of fact newsstands in the area, Harrow-on the-Hill, North-West London, do not even sell lottery tickets during the term.
The school may be trying hard to cover up the story but a student is quoted as saying, "Everyone's talking about it. These guys have suddenly become the most popular guys in school."
The school has contradicted itself by first saying, "If they bought a lottery ticket at half term it must have been under the parents' jurisdiction not ours, there is no involvement." says Communications Manager Kirsty Shanahan. But then later said, "We have nothing to say about it. They are Old Harrovians. They are past pupils - one left last year and one the year before." As of right now nobody is willing to tell the official story yet.
